A massive congratulations to iFDA player Lovell Maymon, for gaining a 3 year professional football contract with Manchester City FC.
Lovell first became known to iFDA staff in 2010 where he was immediately sent to Liverpool FC academy trials aged just 6 years old. He then arrived at Manchester United football development centre before also attending Burnley FC where he was offered a contract at age 6 – 2 years earlier than restipulation.
After attending The iFDA development centre, Lovell was immediately sent to Wigan Athletic, to trial with the U9 age group, while he was still a U8. He played in academy matches, scored goals and developed rapidly meaning he was offered a Premier League contract with Wigan. While also trialling with Manchester City Academy he was offered a 3 year contract, which he accepted and signed on the pitch at The Etihad Stadium with England international players Joe Hart and Micah Richards and the Premier League trophy.
Well done Lovell, you are a role model academy student to everyone who wants to play professional academy football. You will always be part of our family and we miss you very much.
