iFDA player Elias Mar Omarsson has signed a senior professional football contract in his home country of Iceland and opened his scoring account at the weekend with a wonder goal aged just 18 years old.
iFDA staff noticed Elias some years back and a professional soccer trial at Bolton Wanderers was immediately set up and undertaken at the (then) Premiership club’s reputable football academy. Late home from training he had missed dinner and so in true iFDA style we bought hamburgers and chips and all sat together eating and laughing – excellent memories of residential football course friendships.
He was appraised as ‘technically the strongest in the group’ at Bolton Wanderers Academy and returned home to Iceland for International monitoring. He then attended the iFDA residential football course, with his best friend and iFDA legend Brynjar Freyr Gardarsson and the relationship blossomed. He was then guilty of sporting some of the worst haircuts in modern football, often being referred to as the ‘Icelandic Bieber’.
Elias was immediately called up to the Iceland U17 squad representing his country on several occasions and more recently made his senior debut aged just 18. A fact made more remarkable by acknowledging that the average Premier League debut is now at 23 years old. We are all so proud of Elias and wish him well with his football. One of the nicest young men you will ever meet he deserves all his success due to his hard work ethic and constant respect and manners. One of the true iFDA family members.
